Moffitt Speros Outpatient Center & Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Proton Therapy Center
Tampa, Florida
Moffitt Cancer Center set out to reimagine outpatient cancer care by creating an environment that supports patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. DLR Group and LDCi’s design transforms a standard prototype into a human centered experience rooted in nature, bringing light and restorative views into infusion bays and public spaces. Three distinct building volumes express warm earth tones and organic forms to foster calm and connection to the surrounding wetlands. A two-story entry lobby with a grand canopy and glass curtain wall welcomes patients and visitors, setting a tone of comfort, clarity, and dignity throughout the facility.
The 112,000-SF Moffitt Speros Outpatient Center and Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation Proton Therapy Center integrates comprehensive outpatient services and advanced radiation therapy in a single building. As one of the first two facilities on the 775-acre Speros campus, it anchors future clinical and research growth. The design adapts Moffitt’s prototype to a unique site, preserving natural views and supporting efficient circulation.
Proud to highlight LDCi’s role in the delivery of this 30,000-square-foot ambulatory healthcare facility, where advanced imaging was a major component of the program.
Led by Daniel Roark, AIA, CHID, LDCi was responsible for the planning and design of all 13 imaging modalities and five shelled imaging vaults, integrating complex clinical, technical, shielding, infrastructure, and workflow requirements into a coordinated healthcare environment.
The project reflects the depth of LDCi’s healthcare expertise and our ability to successfully plan highly technical diagnostic imaging environments within complex ambulatory care facilities.
